The 3rd XV held on to win 18 – 15 against Tygerberg on Memorial ‘B’ on Friday afternoon after going into the break 10 – 0 ahead.
Â
In the second half the side seemed to relax somewhat when they went 18 – 5 ahead and were duly punished by a determined Tygerberg side who were eager to put points on the board and who scored two tries in the last ten minutes. For SACS Kyran Hawkins kicked a penalty and converted a fine Chulu Ratsibe try in the first half. Then another Hawkins penalty and a sparkling try scored by Matthew Lawton after great work by the pack saw the lead stretch out to 18 – 5.
Â
Much work remains to be done if we are to be really competitive against Rondebosch away on Saturday 9 May.
