The U15C’s continued to dominate in their division locally, by beating a spirited Bosch team who never said die. Although the match never really settled into a spectacle, SACS started strongly and tried on every occasion to stretch the Bosch defence with their pacey backs. This U15C team love to run but turned over too much ball at cruical times to create any phases. It created a stop-start kind of game, which the match official unfortunately could not overcome. In fact, Bosch were kept in the game by some questionable decisions, which also led to a frustration in the SACS team.

SACS crossed the line on 4 occasions with only one try allowed. This was a good effort by Rademeyer the “Danie Rossouw” of the C team. He lifted his game generally to “Bakkies Botha” status, and crashed over for another clear score, but the ref was unsighted (which is a fair description for most of his game). This would have put SACS clear by two tries, but it was not to be. Bosch bounced back with a kick through and a good pick up for the wing to race to the corner post. It was a tight finish, but SACS’ neat and professional looking TJ, Scheinbar was convinced the Bosch player had stepped out and lost the ball over the line. With the ref arriving soon afterwards, he debated with the TJ. This was not a debate Scheinbar was ever going to win. And the try was almost comically awarded. To the credit of the Bosch kicker he stepped up and slotted it from the corner to make it 7-7.
Luckily for SACS they stepped up the pressure and spent the rest of the game in the Bosch 22. A rare penalty for SACS was awarded and Captain Mullins had no hesitation to call up his own version of “Monty” the big left-footed Voster to take the kick. With the wind at a conservative 200km/h into his face, Voster calmy slotted the winning score. The final score of 10-7 flattered Bosch, but was a good lesson in keeping focused and grounded for this good SACS U15 team.
With two games to go they have the chance to be known for centuries as the greatest ever SACS U15C team. What an honour, what a team. GOOD LUCK WITH THE BISHOPS GAME BOYS!
