u16A Match Report vs Brackenfell
The u16A team has not had their best time together this past week, losing to both Colstons and Brackenfell by narrow margins. To say the boys looked rusty against Colstons would be an understatement as I believe the intensity and execution were sorely lacking in almost every department. Yes, the game was played during the week after school, but to use that as an excuse would be... Read More
u16B Match Report vs Brackenfell
The boys came out firing on all cylinders on Saturday to beat Brackenfell 24-0 in their most complete performance of the year. This was the perfect start to the second half of the season. Things didn’t go SACS’s way on Saturday and by the time the u16B’s ran onto the field the u14A, u15A and u16A had all lost to the hosts. Mr. Cromhout said to the boys that the team... Read More
u16A Match Report vs Wynberg
The u16A team finished the 1st half of the season in style beating a determined Wynberg side 25 – 5 on the memorial B field on Thursday 16 June. The expected rain did not materialise for our match so the game, although muddy underfoot, was largely played as normal with the ball being thrown around quite a bit providing an entertaining spectacle for the small crowd that gathered... u16B Match Report vs Wynberg
SACS lost 36-12 on Thursday in our Classic Clash against Wynberg. It was a game played in muddy conditions but no rain fell during the game. We were bullied off the ball and Wynberg dominated possession from the beginning of the game. There seemed to be no urgency in the team and the result was a fair reflection of how much Wynberg wanted it. Missed tackles cost us hugely with Wynberg... Read More
u16B Match Report vs Primrose
The SACS u16B team played Primrose RFC on Saturday 11 June. This was the first time that SACShas had a fixture against Primrose RFC which meant we weren’t sure what to expect. The SACS boysdominated possession throughout the game and did enough to win 17-5 in what they agree was avery un-inspired performance. During the week we had a joint practise with the u16C team in which... Read More
u16A Match Report vs Primrose
The Primrose match was a good test for the u16A team as I feel we may have under estimated them somewhat. The plan was for us to keep the ball tight with the forwards and grind them down so that eventually the ball could be spread wide, however what we did not take into account was the way the Primrose boys did not stand back easily. This I feel shocked the boys a bit and as such... Read More
u16A Match Report vs De Kuilen
The u16A team had an interesting morning out at De Kuilen. The boys were ready after the Paul Roos match, and wanted to keep the standards they set the week before. This was always going to be difficult and one the boys ultimately failed to do, but what they did achieve was grinding out an ugly win in difficult circumstances. They were not fantastic, nor did they set the field alight... Read More
u16B Match Reports
The past three weekends have seen the boys play two famous rugby schools, namely Bishops and Paul Roos and one lesser known school, De Kuilen. The aim of these reports is to give accurate feedback to the boys and report on the true facts rather than massage ego’s, if there are any. By being able to accept personal criticism and react to it in a positive manner the boys will become... Read More
u16A Match Report vs Paul Roos
Wow! What a mind bending performance from the boys and such a pity that the score line did not reflect the dominance that this u16A team had over rivals, Paul Roos on that day. Yes, we lost 20 nil, but 2 try opportunities went a-begging, whilst the Paul Roos tries, although well finished, came from silly, stupid errors from ourselves. What remains the most frustrating thing... Read More
u16A Match report vs Bishops
The u16A team has been through a lot, both mentally and physically these past few weeks, and all I can say is I am massively proud of them to have pulled through such a difficult period with a smile on their faces and with such determination to sort themselves out against Bishops. The pressure from not winning has been huge from all parties involved with the team, and it has been... Read More
