SACS managed a credible semi-final spot in the annual Villager 7’s tournament, where they eventually bowed out to the eventual winners, Bishops 17-0. In fact, the SACS B team, also managed a quarter-final spot. Our 7’s teams included some young players, including some U16’s, who gained valuable experience for next year. Well done men!
The results against WBHS in the last round of matches for 2009 were a little disappointing, but given the disruptions of the weeks before, some teams can hold their heads high as they overcame the usual Wynberg determination. In particular, the U15 division again proved why they are a special group of men, winning 3 out of the 4 games played. The game that was lost in this age group was by 2 points only.
The first XV dished up a performance against the powerful Wynberg side that was worthy of the SACS colour and it was pleasing to see this game see saw to the end, where at one stage it could have gone either way.

Well done to all the players and coaches who gave up their time. This year saw some of the better results, at least since 2005 these have been statisitcally our best results across the teams. We need to build on this, and come back stronger. Enjoy the break.
Although SACS struggled against some of the Bishops teams this past weekend, the junior age groups showed much promise for the future of rugby at the College. In particular, the U15 division once again showed class throughout, not losing a game. The C’s started well with a win, while the B’s clawed back to force a draw, leaving the A team to dominate Bishops in an entertaining game which they won 27-13.
The U14’s also enjoyed some close games, and appear to be really getting to grips with their true potential. Also in the U16 division SACS enjoyed 2 wins out of 3. The results should be used to build confidence for next week, as we take on rivals Wynberg.
