U16's

The SACS under 16A team had to work hard for victory over a committed Bishops team on the Memorial B-field at SACS on Saturday. The final score was 33-14 to SACS but this flattered the hosts. Continue

The SACS U16A team scored a memorable 61-nil win over Rondebosch on Saturday. Having beaten Bosch as U15’s we were hoping to knock them over again but never expected this. The game started slowly as the teams felt each other out but SACS put together some good passages of play to eventually take the lead. Continue

The U16A team had a morale boosting 26-3 win over Duineveld from Upington at the Wynberg Boy’s High Rugby Festival over the long weekend. Coming off a poor start to the season against Stellenberg we ran in four nice tries. Continue

The U16 B team put together one of our stronger performances of the season against Landbou, on Saturday morning. We started off well with a well-worked try from Wayne van Niekerk within the first 10 minutes, thanks to some good go-forward ball provided by the forwards and some straight running in the backline. But, we spent the rest of the first half in our own half, with the opposition flyhalf keeping us under pressure with some good kicking. We struggled to regain momentum and conceded a penalty on the stroke of half time to make the score 5-3.

We found ourselves one point behind early in the second half, after conceding another penalty. We then, after a crucial period of attacking play, kicked over a penalty of our own to make it 8-6 to us. With four minutes to go, we secured the win with a classic try from Baden Stevens.

All in all, a unified performance – resulting in a satisfying 13-6 victory.
