U13A Match Report vs Bishops

Our final clash against Bishops was played away. Luckily the weather turned just before we ran onto the field. At kick off we applied maximum pressure and kept Bishops pinned behind their 5 meter line for about 5 minutes. A great team effort resulted in me scoring and Ollie converted, we took the lead 7/nil. After the kick off we applied the same pressure and missed a few opportunities to score but the Bishops defence held strong. Bishops got the ball off a scrum and ran the ball wide down the wing scoring a good try which they converted. We went into half time 7 all.

The second half started much like the first with our forwards putting immense pressure on them. Following a clearance kick Bishops ran the ball wide and we just managed to secure the ball on our try line which resulted in a 5 meter scrum which Bishops then scored from and converted. We were now 7 points down. With about 15 minutes to go Luke scored a great try through the middle which Ollie converted. After the kick off we retained the ball in the forwards who worked the ball all the way down the field to the Bishops try line an excellent team effort which resulted in Eddie crossing the line for our final try which was not converted. Final score 19/14 to SACS.

We must celebrate the win but we didn’t play to our full potential. We will need to up our game for our match against Wetpups on Tuesday.
