10a vs Bishops

In 1stXV MATCH REPORTS, Junior School, Other Teams

The U10A season started with our opening game against our rivals Bishops. Our game kicked off on a crisp winter’s morning at 09H35 with Bishops scoring the first try and converting within the first 5 minutes. Once we settled down we spent most of the first half deep in Bishops territory. Unfortunately we never managed to convert our possession into points in the first half. At half time our coaches urged us to score as soon as possible and Rupert Holmes dummied the opposition to score within the first 5 minutes with Oliver Finley converting. Bishops then scored again but failed to get the conversion over. Following a great team effort Luke Kritzinger then managed to score a great try. Oliver’s conversion kick just missed the upright. Bishops then nearly scored a 3rd try but due to some brilliant defense we stopped them just short of the line. Rupert Holmes unfortunately got injured and was replaced by Michael McGaw. Bishops then scored again but failed to convert. Bishops won the game 17 – 12. I was very proud of the way we played.
