Captain’s match report: SACS U12 C vs. Rondebosch (U12 C)

16 May 2015

Time of Match:  10:40am

By: Ross Lindsay

We won the toss and we decided to let Rondebosch kick off. They had a quick start and we caught the ball.  They soon turned it over and scored an early try which they converted.  We then kicked off then they carried the ball up.  Even with some tough defending, they eventually found a gap and scored again, but did not convert.   Just before half time, Mathew S had an injury.  The halftime score was 12 – 0 to Rondebosch.

In the second half the game was a bit quiet in the beginning. Sadly we slipped a few tackles and Rondebosch got away with another try, again unconverted.  5 minutes from the end of the game, Rondebosch passed a high and long ball which we intercepted.  Finally we scored.

Our forwards felt the pressure and were pushed back over the loose ball on quite a few occasions.

Special mentions go to Luca Marshall for the excellent interception and the try he scored and to Matt McKenzie for the excellent conversion and the accurate touch kicks.

The end score was 17 – 7 to Rondebosch. They played really well and I think they deserved the win.  Well done Bosch!

We look forward to our next game.
