13a match report against Bishops
SACS vs BISHOPS 15th August 2015
After the Wet Pups game we were still hyped and ready to play Bishops on Saturday. We watched the beginning of the B team game and seeing them score many tries it gave us that little more confidence that we needed going into our game.
We began the game through breakaways and we almost scored first except for a great steal by Bishops on the line. After that they counterattacked and scored but they did not convert.
Daniel Smith and Liam Dawson both scored through good play in the midfield and Robbie converted both. Then Robbie had a try of his own down the right wing but could not covert his own try.
We went into half-time 19-5 up. Our coaches told us to use the wind and play on their side of the field no matter what.
We did what they told us and Bishops made a mistake giving us the ball and we used a special penalty move, where Jordan van Schalkwyk scored under the posts. Robbie converted.
Not long after this Daniel Smith scored again in the same place and Robbie again converted.
Bishops then came back with a run-away try which put us under a bit of pressure. This was converted.
We were able to keep our heads cool and Ross Barrett bounced his way to the try line, to score the final try.
Final score was 38-12. Well done to the boys and coaches.
