13b vs Bishops
Saturday 10 may. It had rained hard the previous day, which brought wet conditions. We warmed up with a strong mindset because we were missing several players due to sickness. Due to missing players our gameplay was to keep possession, run straight and drive up the field with the forwards.
We kicked off downfield with a light breeze on our backs and with physical hard counter rucking we managed to turn over possession. We put the opposition on the back foot and with a pick-and-go we broke through to score the opening try with Raa-iq van Oudtshoorn. We kept on playing with this tempo and scored again through Ben Hartley. After this the game slowed down towards half time.
Half time: SACS-10 AND BISHOPS-0
We received in the second half with the occasional drizzle. We started off slowly. Until, from a brilliant penalty move, Dominic Riley breached the whitewash to extend our lead. With that Bishops came out firing at us. We managed to bring ourselves together and so we scored again with fantastic try from Cameron Worthington. Bishops picked up from their mistakes and finally managed to put one behind us in the far corner.
FULL TIME : SACS-20 and BISHOPS-5
Hearty Congratulations go to the team for an amazing, team spirited game. None of this would have been possible without the game-changing reserves who came in to play despite, playing their own match minutes earlier. Reserves to mention are: Cameron Worthington, Max Tedder, William Tweddle, Connor Abrahams and Sebastian McIntosh.
