15a vs Bishops
With a win at home and a draw away against Bishops in 2013, the team were highly motivated to put in a strong performance and make a big statement to their other Southern Suburbs rivals in 2014.
The boys wanted to be as ruthless as possible, setting themselves high standards both from a physical and a technical point of view.
The team started well with a good try off a simple training ground move to open the scoring. For the rest of the half we dominated territory and possession but poor options and some inaccurate passing kept Bishops in the contest when the halftime whistle went. Half time: SACS 12 Bishops 0.
The boys were eager to turn up the heat in the 2nd half which they did, running in a number of excellent tries and winning the contest 40 – 0. Bishops never looked like scoring and it was most pleasing to see the way they were shut out with our work rate and physicality on defence.
The team face Rondebosch on Saturday and we’ll be looking to take our performance up another notch and really impose ourselves with even more intensity, physicality, skill and pace.
