12b vs RBPS

In 1stXV MATCH REPORTS, Junior School, Other Teams

Our second match of the season was to be against Rondebosch at Rondebosch.

The team was excited but nervous for the start of the game but soon it was clear that the team was starting to work well together with good ball from the forwards allowing the back line to run nice lines and use some of the moves as practiced during the week.  Within the first 15 minutes we scored three tries and two conversions.  Rondebosch came back at us to try to recover but some great tackling and solid defence denied them any scoring opportunities.  Another 2 converted tries followed before the end of the first half with a score tally of 33-0 to SACS.

The second half started much like the first with all the ball moving through SACS hands.  Try!  First one of the second half came very soon after the re-start.  Conversion successful.

Nice chip ahead from the flyhalf into the corner which was chased down by the wing, chipped forward again and dotted down for the second try of the half.

Last unanswered try came from the forwards with a good conversion giving a total score of 50 – 0 to SACS before the game was called off 15 minutes before time.

Well done to the team for their spirited and united efforts in this great win.

Oliver Heyer Cleave (Captain)
