13a match report against Wynberg
We started the day nervous and excited for our last U13A match. The weather was cool and cloudy with no rain.
The game was immediately difficult and Riley Kirby sustained a bad injury to his ankle right at the start.
Wynberg took advantage of us and scored a try and then also converted a penalty.
We were lucky to score before the half time whistle by a good try by Nabeel Gameldien which was converted by Robbie Baynham.
Half time score was 10-7 to Wynberg
Wynberg then scored again in the second half which was not converted.
We got a penalty which Robbie slotted over the posts, which meant the score was 15-10
We gave it our all but some loose kicks gave away possession and Wynberg were able to score again.
Then Michael Levitt showed his strength and pace and scored our final try which Robbie again converted.
We had good momentum but this was the last play of the match and we lost 20-17.
It has been a privilege to play with the boys, and for the badge. All the best with your rugby careers in high school. Big thanks to Mr Marshall and Mr Laros for all their time and commitment.
