13a vs DPHS
On Saturday we played a very strong DPHS side. We have been preparing for this match for over 4 weeks. The conditions were terrible, with pouring rain and freezing conditions. Two hours before the match, we started with a 20 minute mental session which got our “head in the game”. We got dressed in the changing room and had a strong team talk.
We ran onto the field with the mud ‘’shlushing’’ under our boots. We lost the toss and received the ball. We started off with great intensity and retained it throughout the match. We got a penalty in front of the poles and with great precision, Matthew Venier kicked the muddy ball over the poles for a 3-0 lead. It started hailing during this match which made it even more difficult. The half ended with a 3-0 lead.
The second half started and we got straight into our groove. Unfortunately, the rain came pouring down and the coaches had no choice but to call off the game, giving us the win 3-0.
Well done to all the boys.
