15a match report against Paarl Gim

A week is a long time in sport!

At the end of the last match report (vs Rondebosch) the following was written:

We know it was not our best effort but the beauty of sport is that we now have the opportunity to redeem ourselves against Paarl Gim. The coaches have huge belief in this team. I know the players will rise to the challenge on Saturday.

‘Its not important what happens to you, it’s your response that counts’

And rise to the challenge they did!

Missing key players through injury and illness and various boys playing out of position the team produced their best performance of the season to beat Paarl Gim 17-0.

For a while we have been slow starters but on Saturday the boys flew out of the blocks playing with huge intensity and belief. They ran at Gim with purpose and when they were called upon to defend they did so with pride and commitment.

It was a wonderful team effort and the coaching staff are extremely proud of the boys.

The challenge now is to harness this spirit and bring it into all our remaining games. If we can do that then the sky is the limit.
