16a vs Paarl Gim

In 1stXV MATCH REPORTS, High School, Other Teams

A lesson was learnt on Saturday for this potentially good SACS team. Follow the coaches game plan for the type of weather we were going to play in! Paarl Gim played the game plan that the coaching staff had practiced that week. The result was SACS were force to turn around and fetch the ball or face up-and-unders. But, SACS players thought they could run from inside their 22m and we were turned over or made turnovers, resulting in tries. To concede 9 tries in those conditions is simply not good enough to be competitive in this league. We have Boland away on the farm this Saturday and the boys will need to accept the changes that could be made and get on with some hard work this week.

On the positive side, the forwards held their own in the tight exchanges, although lineout options were wrong at times. Five games remain this year for these boys and they will be playing now for positions in the 2015 1stXV training squad.
