11b vs Wynberg

In 1stXV MATCH REPORTS, High School, Other Teams

We played away at Wynberg this Saturday, in cool weather.  SACS vs Wynberg is always a tight game, but SACS managed to get an early lead with Adam Wilson scoring to take a lead to 5-0. SACS kept Wynberg pinned in their half, and Matt Paul capitalised on this pressure, adding a further 5 points to the score board.

With SACS dominating the scrums, a further try was scored by Ethan Divine, and beautifully converted by Matt Mackenzie. This resulted in Wynberg stepping up the pressure before half time, but with no change to the scoreboard.

The second half saw SACS attack strongly again, with Aidan Bernard finally scoring. With an unsuccessful conversion, SACS held the score at 22-0. SACS kept Wynberg pinned on their try line again , until finally the last try was scored by Ross Nel. No conversion took the final score to 27-0, a great victory over one of our biggest rivals.

We all had a fantastic game, and well done to my team for playing a strong physical game.

Matthew Paul
