13a match report against WPPS
This was a match that we really wanted to win. Unfortunately even with excellent preparation we did not manage to do so.
It was a strange day as the match started off in boiling sunshine and then for the final 15 minutes the rain came down.
Wet Pups scored first and converted the try. Then we got into action and after camping on their line and playing phase after phase Sechelangi Chibale went over to score our first try. This was not converted.
SACS then showed their running rugby and Oliver Walton made a storming try down the line and Robbie Baynham converted.
We wanted to get to half time ahead but Wet Pups scored once more and the score was 14-12 to them.
The second half was difficult and we defended well but could not stop a run by the Wet Pups fullback who scored after running from behind the half-way line.
The final whistle blew after we had spent 10 minutes attacking Wet Pups line and the final try by SACS was deemed by the referee to be held-up. Final Score 19-12.
Well done to all the boys and coaches for their incredible build-up and gees before, during and after the match. Hard luck this time, next time we will succeed.
