12c match report against WPPS
Captain’s Match Report:
U12C SACS vs. Western Province Prep School (WPPS) U12C: 11:20am
By Ross Lindsay
This match was an away game and played at the WPPS Douglas Murray Field. On the day the weather was threatening to rain, but it cleared up just before the start of the match. There was a very light wind.
WPPS won the toss and SACS kicked off managing to score 3 quick tries, none of which were converted. There were for more tries in the first half, one converted, taking the score 32-0 at half time.
In the second half WPPS seemed to find new energy and immediately put themselves on the scoreboard shortly after the kick-off. This did not last long however and SACS managed to go over the line on 3 more occasions, although none converted.
The final score was a convincing 51-7.
The SACS team showed much improved continuity with good linking between the forwards and the backs. They were much more aggressive in in the loose ball, managing to drive over and retain possession when it mattered. The drills we did in practice really improved the game play on the field during the match.
Special mention must go to Ciaran for a great effort in the ruck and 4 tries as well as to Aiden for a hard work in the scrums as well as for 2 tries.
Well done boys! A well-played and well deserved win!
