13a match report vs WPPS
SACS vs Wet Pups 13th August 2015
Well this was a big match because we had been so narrowly beaten when we played Wet Pups the last time. It was a very rainy day and the fields were flooded.
Play started and SACS were playing towards the tennis courts. We camped on the try line but could not get the try until one minute before half time when Nabeel went over and Robbie converted successfully.
Our half time talk was about keeping it through the forwards because of the conditions and don’t try anything fancy.
The second half was as wet and muddy as the first, but our forwards played brilliantly and did not give WetPups any time to get the ball to their back line. Wet Pups got a penalty and from this they scored a try but this was not converted.
Ross Barrett then scored off a line-out that resulted in a maul and Robbie narrowly missed the conversion, hitting the cross bar.
In the last minute we had a scrum on the half-way line. After Nathan’s brilliant kicking today he put in another kick for Ollie to chase and with the ball still in play Nathan grubbered it through and Daniel Smith was able to dive on it first to score. This was not converted.
We were delighted with the 17-5 win. Well done to the boys.
