16a match report against RBHS
We were expecting a tough game and we certainly received one from a strong Bosch team. Jordy Hop finished the move in the first few minutes to score after chipping ahead, which was collected by Zolani Masembathe who offloaded to Jordy to score. The conversion was missed unfortunately. We were out played at the breakdown, although both teams battled with theĀ referees decisions at the breakdown. Rondebosch scored three tries. One from their popular ” George Gregan” move close to the line, another from a strong driving maul and the other from a break down the blindside.
SACS mauled well from the lineouts and at times marched up the field, only to be brought down short of the try line.
Rondebosch defence was excellent, so was their line speed to close down our backline. We managed too late to break the defence, crossing the whitewash in that last few minutes to bring the score and convertĀ to get to the final score of 20 – 22 in Rondebosch’s favour. SACS players made too many mistakes to beat this Rondebosch team. Perhaps we should have gone for poles when we had the chance, but when you chasing 11 points the decision to run the ball was the correct one I think?
We now have lots to work on before we take on Paarl Gim at home this Saturday.
