SACS 7s Quadrangular Tournament
The tournament will be a one day Sevens tournament which will be contested between U14, U15 and U16 age groups. It will take place on the 5 September 2015, the day after the annual Villagers Sevens event.
The proposal is to have all four of the main Southern Suburbs boy’s schools – SACS, Wynberg, Rondebosch and Bishops – competing at this exclusive tournament to continue the great rivalry that exists between the schools.
South African Sevens greats Kyle Brown and Paul Delport will be personally involved in all aspects of the tournament including the planning, organizing and running off the tournament. Furthermore, they will be available on the day for signatures and to chat to all the boys and spectators.
In terms of the event, each team will play 5 games: 3 pool games, a semi-final and 3rd/4th or final. The aim is to make it a short and exciting tournament for all the boys involved as well as the parents. Due to the very nature of the Sevens game we hope that this tournament gathers a lot of interest. The current proposed starting times are 9.30 am – 4 pm.
We hope that you are as excited as we are at the prospect of a great day of Sevens rugby for the boys and the spectators. We strongly believe that there is value in the younger boys playing Sevens in a competitive nature.
There are several features that the tournament will have:
- Possible exploratory rule changes by the South African Sevens coaches and players
- A tournament team in each age group will be selected
- A player of the tournament in each age group will be selected
- Cups and medals for the winning teams
- Possible 1 on 1 sessions with Kyle Brown for the players’ of the tournament
