13A Rugby Report 2013
Rugby is a game played by many and watched by millions, it is what separates the men from the boys…
Sacs Rugby is almost like a culture, once you have signed up for it there is no looking back. More importantly you must sign up for the right reasons, not because your teacher said you must but because you are willing to stretch your boundaries, give up lots of time. It’s not just another four hours of your week, it’s the four hours of your week were you are willing to go the extra mile for your team in any means possible whether its fitness, preseason or a captain’s run.
I think this year was a great year for the u13A’s. Obviously it wasn’t the best statistics wise but the quality of rugby itself has increased tremendously. To be in the u13A’s you must be committed, hardworking, dedicated and work hard for the guy next to you. I found in grade 7 the physicality increases and the size seems to matter more. I think in this group of boys specifically what helped us do well this season was communication, speed, skills and lots of HEART. I remember the saying “when the going gets tough the tough get going.”
I would like to close off in thanking Mr Marshall and Mr Laros for all the hours of dedication they put into this year’s u13A team. We wouldn’t have done it without their passion.
I would like to thank the parents who gave us this opportunity of playing such good rugby over the years and last but not least, THANK YOU to the boys for their dedication they have shown for the last 7 years. It has been an honour in captaining such a talented bunch of guys.
